and some are historical:
so how do we deal with them?
72 Immediately the rooster crowed the second time.b Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows twicec you will disown me three times.” And he broke down and wept.
(Mk 14:72, NIV)
Our recognition of mistakes is key, Peter recognized he messed up. Then he was overwhelmed by sorrow, and yes he wept (cried). Crying is an outward expression of an inward movement. But it shows he was truly sorry.
Most mistakes in life are recoverable, how you deal with it shows where you are at with your faith.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 Jn 1:9, NIV)
God is always willing and able to forgive, He looks past our mistakes. Our problem is that we don't know how to look past the people around us who make mistakes and our own.
Forgive mistakes and move on, it's healthy for you spiritually and emotionally.
There is one mistake you and I must not make: that is ignoring the fact that we will die one day and Jesus is the only way to enter Heaven. We must absolutely get this one right.
have great day, Chris
