Camp, a retreat, and another Camp

Summertime is a busy time, but also a rewarding time.  I don't get a whole lot accomplished during summer months because of camp, a retreat, and another camp.  But, its ok, cause i LOVE it....

There is so much involved in getting these together, so much behind the scenes to do, and ugh the paperwork!!!  However, what God accomplishes through these camps and retreats is unbelievable.

So why do I love the camps so?  I am reminded of a verse:

Matthew 13:36, "Then He left the crowd and went into the house.  His disciples came to him and said, "Explain to us the parable..." (NIV)

Three things:

1. You gotta leave the crowd.  Camps and retreats enable us to step back from the crowd, from everyday life and enable Jesus to teach us something.
2. They went into the house, wasn't their house, was somebody elses.  They where away from home, away from the normal, away from, well, everywhere.
3. It's a chance for my students to dig deeper, just like Jesus' disciples came to Him and wanted the parable explained.

so, my blogs may be few from now till August, but its because of:

camp, a retreat, and another camp.
