what would it be like?

21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. (1 Pe 2:21., NIV)

So things have been a lot crazy the last month, God had given me the clear vision for new direction in our student ministry and with lots of help we have implemented the change and He is blessing our student ministry.  I then prayed and asked God for a series to begin our new student worship, He gave me "Walking In the Footsteps of Jesus", in which we have been examining the places Jesus went and what He did when He got there.  It has truly been an interesting and challenging walk for myself, and this series has only begun.

What would it be like?  To have been one of the Disciples, walking in Jesus' footsteps.  To go where He went, to see the things He saw, and to impact the people the way He did.

You and I have that very same opportunity.  He left us an example.  He left us a "map" of His footsteps.  You and I CAN walk where He walked, we CAN do what He did, and we SHOULD impact people the way He did.

Every step He took He did with purpose.  Every step he took was clearly thought out.  Every step He took impacted disciples and followers alike.

As I am preparing these lessons I have been reading, then closing my eyes and imagining myself being right there, seeing what they saw, feeling what they felt, and walking away with a new perspective of not only Who Jesus is and what He did, but also who I am.

So what would it be like to follow in His footsteps, every one of us should figure it out.  You have a recorded journal of where He went and what He did, it's called your Bible.  I should know, you should know.  What you will discover the most is that they lead to places outside of our "comfort zone".  They lead to the church, but they also lead into the places church people dare not go.  Examine His steps and you will see what I mean.

What would it be like?

Amazing.....

have a great day, Chris
