Heaven?

Have you ever been somewhere and thought "this is what Heaven must be like"?  I have been on some beautiful golf courses and thought that, been up on the blue ridge parkway and thought that, have been to Pocono mountains and thought that, and many more and the thought is there.  We try to compare what we see here to what we think it is like, well there..... the problem is we cant.

one of my favorite songs from the 80's is "Heaven is a place on earth".  But the reality is:  It most certainly is not.

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. ^2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. (Re 21:1-2, NIV)

This is one of the things in scripture that the writers did the absolute best they could to describe a place that is indescribable.  Whatever place on earth that you think is like heaven:  its better than that.

Mountain Air Golf course:  it's more beautiful than that
Blue Ridge Mountains: its more beautiful than that
Grand Canyon: it's more beautiful than that
Niagara falls: it's more beautiful than that
Biltmore House: it's more beautiful than that
Buckingham palace: it's more beautiful than that

God has created a place that is more beautiful than anything we have ever seen, and what makes it beautiful?  God.  He has created it for you and me, if you will only believe.
