3 March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. 4 Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. 5 When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have all the people give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the people will go up, every man straight in.”
Joshua led the people to Jericho, when they got there, in the beginning of chapter 6, it tells us the city was well fortified (aka a big wall). What God tells Joshua to do is the absolute craziest thing i have ever heard, or so it would seem. God tells him to march around the city for six days, then on the seventh day march around seven times, play horns, and shout. Yep, that it, play horns and shout.....and God said the walls would collapse.
Now imagine what kind of faith it takes here to follow through with this. Imagine how the people laughed and mocked Joshua.
Guess what???
seventh day, Joshua did what He was supposed to and:
20 When the trumpets sounded, the people shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the people gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so every man charged straight in, and they took the city. (Jos 6:20, NIV)
God grant me the faith and trust to do what seems to me the craziest thing, no matter what it is You ask.
